A movie scene

Wednesday, May 13, 2009
I have always been a fan of movies/Tv series starring Pankaj kapoor, the earliest of which i didn't even remember the name.

It was a story of doctor, struggling to pursue his passion of finding a cure.
His days spent toiling away in his makeshift lab, amidst a strained family life and a convoluted professional environment.

I can neither recall the plot, nor th actress nor the director.

But I still vividly remember the bearded face of the doctor with weary eyes, searching for an elusive horizon.
The strain of a man pulled in many different directions.

I do remember the scene, where his wife picks up his dairy from the table, and reads two 2 short lines scribbled at the end of a page filled with notes.
Which summarizes the thoughts of the character:

So much to do
So little is done

PS:The name of the movie i later found out was Ek Doctor ki Maut

A Fist full of Sand

Thursday, November 13, 2008
The Sun was deep red as it hovered over the endless sea, ready to call it a day. Sid was taking a stroll on the beach, almost struggling against the collapsing sand as he walked. She was sitting there alone with hands around her knees, staring at the setting sun.
He sighed and walked towards her with an effort.

She didn't turn as he sat beside her, watching her involved in a blank stare across the horizon.
He asked her."Why do you like Akash so much?"
She faced him. "What do you mean?"

He turned towards the Sea, "Sometimes I wonder,Why do some people like each other...Why do you like him?"

"I don't know, I .. just like him."

"But you are beautiful,intelligent..you can get anybody.."
She let the grief burst out. "If i am so good, Why cant i have him?"

Sid shook his head . "That,I don't know. But i am sure that if you are in trouble and you need help,He will do everything possible from his side..
But you shouldn't ever expect such things which...". He trailed off, unable to find words to explain.

Sid took a fist full of sand in his hand. "You see the sand in my fist? The harder you try to hold on to it,the faster it slips between your fingers."
Sid continued looking at her meaningfully , while the sand slipped away from his hand.

She sat silently as tears rolled over her cheeks. He had just stated the obvious fact which she ignored till now.He didn't love her and nothing would change that.

Waves crashed and a carpet of water slid smoothly towards her feet.
She wiped her tears and looked at him and managed a faintest of smiles.
"Thanks Sid"

I connect with this song:
kya karoon ki mujhe na kehna nahi aata
kisi ka dil bhi dukhaaya na jaata koyi kahe please
aur maange koyi cheez, toh use main taal na paata
kya karoon ki mujhe na kehna nahi aata
kehna chaahu na par kahoon haan, kya musibat hai re bhai
kis tarah se khud ko rok loon, hoga koyi toh upaay

I hate Sare Gamma Delta Theta..whatever.

I hate the way the anchors put up a sugary face.
I hate it when they *heavily* commercialize the sets, the theme.. on second thougts... it is a goddam soap.

I hate when the participants say "thank You" hundred times over to the "gurus"... i bet they actually mean.. "Fuck You guys, fuck you very very much"
I hate that Himesh "mad as a Hatter" Reshamiya.

I hate when the singers plead and beg us to vote for them.feel like sending them a 1Rupee coin.
Pathetic i say!pathetic.

I hate when they call on judges who put on a headphone and pretend to 'analyse' their voice...i bet the headphone is not even connected.
